As a general rule, treat a trophy that you plan to mount as if you are going to eat the meat. Make sure it is fresh and is kept cool or frozen as soon as possible. Also keep the specimen clean of blood and dirt. Cotton balls in the mouth and nostrils may aid in doing this. Make sure you provide adequate skin for shoulder mounts.

All skin is needed from the front legs forward and cut front legs down the back where the brown and white hairs meet.
